Venue

The High-level Segment will take place on 1 June and is organized in connection with the Stockholm+50 international meeting which will take place on 2 and 3 June 2022 in Stockholmsmässan, Stockholm (Älvsjö), Sweden.

Registration for government representatives

The names and contact information of the designated ministers and other high-level representatives should be communicated to the Secretariat of the three Conventions by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Permanent Mission of your country to the United Nations in Geneva using the registration form, together with an official nomination letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or a note verbale for the Permanent Mission in Geneva.

The required information must be sent to the Secretariat at the email address provided in the sequence at the latest by Friday, 20 May 2022, for government representatives not requesting financial support. The deadline to request financial support expired on 22 April 2022.

In addition, please kindly note that the minister(s) and other high-level representatives wishing to participate in the High-level Segment of the BRS COPs will also need to be registered as part of their delegation attending the Stockholm+50 international meeting in order to get a badge to access the premises. Registration for observers

Observers to at least one of the meetings of the Conference of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions wishing to nominate a high-level representative to attend the High-level Segment are requested to send the registration form to the Secretariat at the email address provided in the sequence at the latest by Friday, 20 May 2022.

In addition, please kindly note observers wishing to participate in the High-level Segment of the BRS COPs will also need to be registered to the Stockholm+50 international meeting in order to get a badge to access the premises. You can find more information on the registration here. For those representing an admitted observer to the meetings of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions and registered for the High-level Segment, but unable to register to the Stockholm+50 international meeting, please contact the Secretariat also at the address in the sequence.

The attention of observers is also drawn to the fact that high-level participants from observer bodies or entities may attend the High-level Segment but not participate in the discussions between Ministers or their equivalent.
