Science fair theme

The meetings of the conferences of the parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions will be held under one common theme called “From science to action, working for a safer tomorrow”. The purpose of the theme is to highlight the importance of the science-policy interface for the effectiveness of the conventions.

The science fair closely reflects the overall theme of the meetings. It aims to:

  • Increase understanding of the scientific basis of the three conventions;
  • Clarify the scientific processes established under the conventions for their effective implementation;
  • Increase awareness and understanding of the in-depth scientific considerations relating to decision-making under the three conventions.

Target audience of the science fair is delegates and observers to the 2015 triple COPs.
